- How do I add a place to the system?
- Click the Add a place link on the menu bar
and fill out the form with the place information.
- Why can other people edit a place that I entered?
- Hopefully they'll add additional useful information to your
description of the place. Don't worry, if something bad happens it's easy to revert to the previous version (or any prior version)
of your place.
- What's with the latitude and longitude stuff?
- Some of the places listed here are in the great outdoors
(trailheads, for example) and don't have street addresses. If you include the latitude and longitude when you add
a place to the system, we'll use it to draw a map showing how to get to that place (a tip of the hat to Google Maps)
If you provide a street address, the system will try to find the latitude and longitude automatically.
- But I don't know the latitude and longitude of the place I'm entering!
- Don't worry about it. Just put in the information you know. With luck, somebody who does know will come along behind
you and fill in the missing information. That's what a community is all about.
