The Spruce Mountain Bakery

Update:  It appears that the bakery is still open, but moved across the road from the location where this photo was taken.  See the comment below by Anonymous from Ft. Ann.

You'll do a double take when you come to the Spruce Mountain Bakery... Asking yourself "Is this place really open?" It is, and unless they have modernized in the past year, the inside looks as "ghost town" as the outside. However, this bakery is very popular with the locals and if you're not early enough, they'll be out of many of the goodies. Get there before 10 or 11 am most days or you'll miss out. The prices are very reasonable.

Travel Directions

The Spruce Mountain Bakery is 5 miles north of Warrensburg on the west side of Rt. 9. Well known by the locals, it's not marked well so look for a group of buildings to the left as you head from Warrensburg to Chestertown.

Great Boston Cream Doughnuts,        2007-06-11 08:06:12

This place really is a great stop. It is a true Adirondack experience and the doughnuts are phenominal.

Great Place!!!!,        2008-04-16 20:04:35

This place has the best doughnuts, the boston creme are tooooo die for and the jelly weigh about a pound each. They have danish, breads, rolls, crumb cakes and they are all great, too. Must get there early or you won't get much. Some days there is a line out the door, and they aren't in any hurry, guess you call it small town atomsphere.

Awwwwww,        2009-07-25 12:07:24

I know the sign on the door last year said, "on vacation" when we went to Lake George. The older son wanted to go to college 2 years ago. Maybe he went?
