The Farmers' Museum is a 19th century village of more than two dozen buildings. RE-enactors portray weavers, pharmacists, blacksmiths, broom-makers, and more. Thre's a children's barnyard where kids can interact with with animals, and you can milk a cow!
The Museum also a country fair with games and activities from 19th century rural America.
A new feature of the Museum as of 2006 is the Empire State Carousel: a full-sized merry-go-round that was built by over 1000 volunteer carvers, painters, quilters, and woodworkers over a 19 year period from 1994 to 2003. The carousel has 25 hand-carved riding animals indigenous to New York State, and painted panels featuring famous New Yorkers such as Susan B. Anthony, Jackie Robinson, Grandma Moses, and Theodore Roosevelt.
