The Bourse is a complex of shops, restaurants, and offices in a beautifully restored old building in downtown Philadelphia. Originally constructed as the first commodities exchange in the United States, the Philadelphia Bourse Building was completed in 1895. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's worth a visit just to see the large, elegantly decorated, vaulted inside space with its great skylights.
Today, the Bourse is home to 27 retail and food service stores and more than 35 businesses.
The Bourse is located just off Independence Mall and is a great place to stop for lunch if you're seeing the historical sights.
